Magpie Mayhem - slot game

I was responsible for all areas of game art creation on Magpie Mayhem, including modelling, texturing, rigging and animation. The theme was also my idea. I wanted to make a game with a theme that hadn't been done before, and magpies with their love of shiny things seemed to suit a gambling game perfectly! The biggest challenge with this game was rigging the magpie to have fully flexible wings with the ability to go from folded to fully outstretched seamlessly. I used a hair plugin for 3ds Max called Hair Farm to do the small feathers. The logo and all 3d text was done using an After Effects plugin called Element 3D.

Example of some of the magpie animations. The animations while perched on the branch and the time between them were randomised to create natural, more unpredictable movement.
